Les Deux Marronniers is a simply stunning barn conversion surrounded by large gardens and rolling countryside, a fresh water swimming pool and it is within easy reach of the villages and local markets.
We think this has to be one of the prettiest places to stay in the Dordogne. The stunning individual location is about half way between the popular village of Eymet and the bustling town of Bergerac. It is easy to get to and being located in the centre of the popular golden triangle of Eymet, Bergerac and Issigeac, there is plenty to see and do.
The owners have thought of everything you could need from a welcome pack with wine on arrival and home comforts such as books and toys for all the guests to enjoy. The house sleeps 8, with two kitchens, two lounges, two large double rooms with king size beds (one en-suite) and two twin rooms and also a large family bathroom. The property has been beautifully renovated keeping the style of the barn yet with modern features blending the old and new seamlessly.
The large open plan lounge and kitchen area leads out onto a simply glorious patio, vibrant garden and pool area. This is a fantastic place to enjoy the sunsets and listen to the birds and wildlife as the evening sun disappears. The large freshwater pool is a great place for the family to enjoy or simply relax on one of the loungers and tuck into a good book. Guests have enjoyed the large dining area by the pool, lit in the evening with fairy lights it really does offer a unique experience you will not find anywhere else.
The house is in a fantastic location to enjoy the markets at Eymet and Issigeac, both highly recommended for local produce and gifts. The busy town of Bergerac is just a short drive away, where you can enjoy a family adventure canoeing or a boat trip, before a walk round the old town for a delightful meal at one of the many restaurants. There really is so much to do, the only decision will be deciding where to go first.
A spectacular holiday is waiting for you.........
19/06/2019 - Review -We had the most wonderful time last week and were so sad to go on Saturday 14th. Eight grownups, eight sad faces. We laughed, we danced, we ate, we drank, but most of all we relaxed. The house is superb and seems to carry it's own kind of magic that each and everyone of us fell deeply in love with. We watched the Hummingbird Moth feast on the Lavender, the Short Toed Eagle hunting for lunch and the Hares running through the fields. One night we went to close the front doors and there were two deer grazing on the lawn - magical. Eymet, Bergerac, Issigeac, Proymessac and yes we went down in the basket. Beynac all stunning places - we will be back 😍😍
19/06/2019 - Review -We have had an absolutely lovely week. The house is so welcoming we felt at home straight away. We have a toddler with us so have spent most of our time chilling by the pool and eating, which has been a pleasure with such a lovely kitchen.
19/06/2019 - Review -We have had an amazing 2 weeks holiday. The grounds and house are just perfect for having the most relaxing holiday we have had in a long time. The area is beautiful, too many places to visit so will definitely return to this stunning location. Sonia and Jim have thought of everything to make your stay just perfect, in a beautiful home with all the luxury you will need. "Perfect hosts", nothing more we could have wished for.
