Le Jardin des Amis offers character holiday accommodation in the heart of the Dordogne in South West France, in an area known as the Périgord Noir. Each of our six self catering gîtes has its own individual terrace area and all properties have access to our large swimming pool, pool side bar and barbecue facilities.
?Le Jardin des Amis can accommodate up to 26 people, perfect for groups, couples, families and singles. All of our holiday cottages are well equipped and comfortable (free WIFI included) to help ensure your french holiday is about as perfect as possible! French TV and English Satellite TV is available except in the studio (The Byre). For families we have cots & highchairs available: please ask when booking. Our studio has been designed for short stays or ‘couples’ holidays and we are flexible on changeover days, even in high season!
Tilleul is our largest gîte making it ideal for groups and comfortably sleeping 8-9 people
Chêne Vert, a beautiful stone cottage is perfect for a smaller family, sleeping 4 in two bedrooms
Eucalyptus is a one-bedroomed cottage sleeping 2-3 people
Magnolia is a ground-floor cottage sleeping 2 people and ideal for guests with reduced mobility
Orchard View cottage is great for friends sharing; it has three bedrooms all en-suite
The Byre Studio is perfect for two people wanting an inexpensive short stay or mini-break.
The holiday gites are ideally situated between the Dordogne and Vezere rivers and just a short walk (400 metres) from the centre of Meyrals. Meyrals is a pretty village in the heart of the Perigord Noir where you will find a great boulangerie for your morning croissants, a post office, two restaurants /bar, a brocante, several galleries/ateliers and a small weekly, summer market.
The surrounding area has a wealth of activities to suit everybody. Less than six kilometres away is Les Eyzies-de-Tayac and the Vezere river valley (now a UNESCO world heritage site due to the concentration of prehistoric caves including the world famous Font de Gaume). The National Museum of Prehistory can also be found in Les Eyzies. Visit the numerous local markets including nearby St. Cyprien or Sarlat (one of the biggest in South West France)to sample the gastronomic delights of Perigord Noir, home to the renowned foie gras, duck confit, truffles, walnuts and wines of the region.
