guest comments

Here are some of the comments received from previous guests.

"A wonderful location and a perfect gîte.  This is the perfect place to escape the stresses and strains of modern lives.  Stunning view and a great location to visit the area.  The nearby mountains around Luchon and Gavarnie offer wonderful views and wildlife.  Many thanks.  We hope to be able to visit again!"

James and Rachel, West Midlands

"We've all had a wonderful three weeks "getting away from it all" in England (& Germany).  This is easily the best gîte we've stayed in in among very many across France & Italy, with excellent facilities, beautiful pool and views, and well placed to get out and about.  We've walked in the mountains (Gavarnie, above Luchon, Col d'Aspet),seen some lovely churches (St Bertrand, St Ligier, Toulouse et al) and enjoyed some splendid site (e.g Carcassonne, Col de Tourmalet, birds of prey at Arreau).  We hope to return some day to see the rest!"

The W family, Cleveland

"Our second visit which was even better than last time, which was fantastic.  The week has gone too quickly - we'll have to stay a fortnight next.  Blue was very cute.  It was great staying up to see the fireworks.  I had great fun watching the fireworks and talking to you too."

Debbie, Matt, Evie and Milly, Ayreshire

"Enjoyed our visit.  The views are to die for!!! Hope to meet you again sometime."

Mr and Mrs Y, Dunfermline, Scotland

"Our third trip and I still love it here.  Would really love to come back, but now we've bought our own Maison Française perhaps we will visit you instead.  Love your gîte, your hospitality and you."

Allan and Sheena, Dunfermline, Scotland

"A lovely house in an ideal setting!  Thank you for making our flying trip a good one."

The McC family, Tyne and Wear

"We have spent two weeks wondering if anyone lives in this area of France - deserted streets in the day and dark houses at night.  Real escape from the stress of living in hotels, airplanes and many countries.  Congratulations for creating a great escape, wonderful views, two seasides and stunning mountains."

Richard and Lilia, Amsterdam and Moscow

"Well, what can we add to the comments we made last year which prompted our second visit.  We thank you once again for their generosity and hospitality.  We recommend the canoes/kayaks at Les Pagares.  The quad bikes are also good value for money (20 minutes south of Pau). We also recommend La Pyrène restaurant (St Gaudens) for a varied menu, nice atmosphere at a very reasonable price. It was great fun to meet and mix with the locals at Larcan. Thank you!"

The C family, St Albans

"We have had a wonderful fortnight.  We were very grateful for the late-night lift from the station and into town - and for all the goodies in the fridge and vegetable garden.  Thank you for your hospitality and congratulations on creating a wonderful gîte."

The O family, Newbury

"A beautiful location, comfortable accommodation, great hospitality and a whole week off watching the World Cup.  Who could ask for more?"

Mr H and Ms L, London

"Superb gîte, b & b great.  Thanks for your hospitality.  We fell in love with your views & our weather here too.  We really want to come back some day."

Mr and Mrs M, Dunfermline, Scotland

" Many thanks for a wonderful week in your beautiful house.  We had a relaxing time enjoying the scenery, food and the Armagnac.  We were made to feel very welcome from the moment that we arrived and would love to come back."

Mr and Mrs T and Mr and Mrs R, Kent

"Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful location and the most hospitable gîte owners we've met. We had a fantastic few days visiting Luchon, spending the day up the mountain, sledging, snowball fighting and building snowmen - everything we could have wished for and sunshine!!! Roll on next year when the kids will be old enough to start skiing."

The R family, La Crèche, France

"The ideal place from which to explore this beautiful countryside.  We doubt there's a gîte with a better mountain view or a warmer welcome. You have achieved a great deal in a short time and are obviously continuing their efforts to make it perfect.  We are sad to head north again into the cold and rain after superb autumn weather."

Mrs and Mrs B, Aberdeenshire

"We would like to thank you for your hospitality and generous welcome pack in addition to their superb garden produce.  The gîte is exemplorary set amidst beautiful surroundings.  We can whole heartedly recommend this to our friends as this is the best gîte we have stayed in in our 20 years of French holidaying.  We will definitely be back in August 2006."

The C family, St Albans

" Lovely house and pool - fantastic views (eventually!! when the weather cleared up.)  Thanks for looking after us so well - aren't French hospitals wonderful!!"

The E and M families, Birmingham

Just chillin'!!!  We are truly jealous of your beautiful location.  It is definitely a view we will always remember.  David and Christopher had a fantastic time in the pool and will never forget playing with Coco and Milly.  Thank you for making us welcome".

Mr and Mrs C and family, Ayrshire
